Holiday-ay, celebrate!

It's been a while since I've posted anything about travel. That could be because, sadly, it's been a while since I've actually traveled. Thankfully, this August Paul and I are hopping on a jet and getting outta Dodge.

I just don't know where we're going yet.

I've got 7-10 days to spare, so I've already eliminated Asia/Australia/Argentina from the mix. What's left are my top five selections, and I need your help to pick the final destination.

If you've been to any of these lovely locales, or just feel like weighing in, please let me know your thoughts. I realize I am ALL over the place, but really, would you expect anything less from me? The choices are:

France. Not sure if I can swing both, but there's the Trianon Palace in Versailles...

...and this ridiculous hotel in Cannes, the Hotel Martinez.

Santorini. This is where I'd like to stay, but the Tsitouras costs 3145 EURO per night. Yes, per night. Isn't there anything other than a Grecian HoJo to fit my budget? Like, something fab in the $350/night range?

Tulum. The Ana y Jose Charming Hotel Tulum is definitely more of a down-and-dirty, low-key kinda spot. Which I love.

Turkey. The Marmara hotels are a gorgeous chain, from what I can tell. The Marmara Antalya is a revolving hotel, so your view is constantly changing. Plus, what I like about Turkey is that maybe I can divide my time between Antalya...

...and Bodrum?

Alys Beach. This one crept up on me. I had no intentions of heading to Florida in August, but I spotted this amazing retreat on a great lil blog, Annechovie, and am loving it.

Get your votes in now, lovelies. I promise to post a roundup of my fave restaurants, bars, and photos in return.

ooh...my vote would be Turkey. But if you're there, you really need to see Istanbul, too. And take the full 10 days if you can. Have fun!!

France is always a winner - you can't go wrong. Santorini is so beautiful. We spent a day there on our honeymoon, we did a cruise through Italy, Greece and Croatia. We were told by the locals that summer is the high season and most expensive time to visit. I'm not sure I would want to spend an entire week there though, it is pretty desolate. It just depends on what type of trip you are looking for...

All of your choices are devine. I am sure you would have a great time at any of them.

Thanks ladies. Turkey and Cannes are both looking lovely at the moment. Greece might have to be an off-season excursion.

Ugh...so over the euro. What ever happened to the days when it was cheap to backpack through Europe? [sigh]

Aargh. Blogger strikes again. My comment vanished.

My vote is for Cannes. Martinique wasn't on your list, but it could be??

Ooohhh....I've never been to Martinique! Though, I'm thinking a trip to the Caribbean will be perfect for winter...

These are all so gorgeous! We honeymooned in Santorini and it was just gorgeous.

You've just reminded me that I need to put Marrakesh on the list, as well! Maybe next year...

All of these look AMAZING! I would pick France. Thanks for stopping by my little byrd blog and saying hi. I am enjoying looking through yours!

Why thank you, Little Byrd! I think my husband is leaning towards France, so that might just be our final destination. Though I definitely will not stop until I've crossed all these locations off of my list:)

I want to go to all those places! Provence is unbelievable. And I'd have to recommend Alys Beach, too. I've never stayed there, but it's just down the road from Seaside, which is very fun, too. The Redneck Riviera sure isn't what it used to be!

Thanks for visiting my blog--I added you to my links!

Thanks so much, Laura! Provence sounds amazing and if I don't get there this year, it will definitely remain on my list until I do.

The Marmara Antalya is amazing, we recently included in a cool multimedia piece on unusual hotels in the world. Maybe you can find inspiration for your next trip. Best, Anna from FLYP
