Deep thoughts on a Friday.

I'm not a big fan of Broadway. I find it annoying when two people are having a conversation and, suddenly, they're singing and dancing and everyone in the fake town comes out of the woodwork and knows all the same lyrics and steps.

But that's beside the point. Do you think this similarity is intentional or a coincidence?

In other important news, today marks the start of the 2008 Olympics. I was doing a little research online and, turns out, there's a Pig Olympics held annually in Moscow.

Who knew?

Check YOU out, Wilbur!

Apparently pigs from various countries around the world compete in three major events—track, swimming, and "footie," pictured below.

(Now that's a ball of snot.)

Just look how happy this little munchkin is. And I just love that red bonnet.

Oink.

P.S. Sorry to have to turn on the double-secret-extra-protection-comment-approval button, but I'm getting more spam than Clay Aiken. As soon as I stop getting email about Viagra and crotchless nylons, I'll be back to my old free-for-all self here at the Bee. Thanks so much for your patience.

Those pigs look very happy in their very odd but special competitions.

Okay, all questions, comments, and opinions made my morning! Great read, lil bee :)

Totally intentional! Good eye, Bee.

The pig bonnet is so "this little piggy went to market." Tres chic!

i'm glad we're not alone when it comes to broadway. we feel guilty about living in nyc, but preferring to go see a movie.

i love the last photo - so cute. have a nice weekend!

your posts always crack me up. i have the same issue with musicals, but the most embarrassing example of this is from 'she's all that.' do you remember that horrific high school movie and in the end, they all suddenly break into dance at the prom? it made me shutter, even at the ripe age of 16. oh, and it's official. i'm buying a pig.

What are you saying, Bee?! You know that's what it's going to be like at our dinner at Bobo...right? We'll just be more drunker.

It was nice to see someone post about the Pig Olympics. Glad you liked my hat.

This post really made me laugh. I can't believe the chips and the poster, wow...makes you really think...hopefully that play is free of trans fats...speaking of that...am I the only one who thinks this but, since they removed the trans fats from many potato chips they all taste a bit - well - cardboard like.

Haha!

BEEF--we REALLY have to practice our routine! I'm still a little rusty on the high kicks and your falsetto is not what it used to be, sister. Oh, and I SO get the glittery tutu this time. You PROMISED!!

Stop pouting. The tutu is mine.

Uncle Beefy said...

Well...that's okay because I wasn't going to wear it this time anyway! So, FINE...have it!

My falsetto is still pretty good considering all the years of whiskey and cigarette breakfasts! It's the perma-eyeliner tattoos that I REALLY regret :( Well, that...and letting Chiclet use my pole.

(You know, someone should put me out of my misery. Even Old Yeller didn't have to go on like this!)

Your Broadway thoughts and picture are just too funny! And we actually have this type of Oink Olympics at our National Fair every year. :)

Okay, I am watching the Olympic Opening Ceremonies as I write this and I have yet to see these little pigs, although there is a man from New Zealand who appears to be wearing a fur rug as a cape. They went to commercial just as he broke into song and dance.

This little piggy went to the Olympics!

Honestly though, I think they could have come up with a better name for Pig Soccer than "footie".

The Lil Bee said...

The funny thing is, "footy" is Australian for football. And I only know this because I have a friend whose sister is dating an Aussie, and they named their dog Footie Boots.

Still, not sure the pig connection...!

Where do you find such hilarity?!

The pigs are great, but I'm just over here happy as a pig in slop that someone other than me feels the same way about MUSICALS!!!!! Nobody ever agrees with me and you just put it perfectly! I'm not alone in this anymore.

You just made my day.

I do not love porkers and that happy pig just makes me smile.
