This three-day holiday has always marked the unofficial end of summer—of Hamptons houses and half-day Fridays. But who's to say that it can't also signify the start of something new?
As all those lucky ducklings prepare for the first day of school (oh, what I would give to go back...), I'm looking forward to fall and all that it brings—Fashion Week, football, new projects, and another trip around the sun.
To kick off the season with a bang, I'm happy to announce that—thanks to your comments—The Lil Bee is donating $1,250 to the following animal rescue organizations:
$500: Save a Sato
$100: Humane Society
$50: Rocket Dog Rescue in San Francisco, Uncle Beefy's favorite
$50: Dumb Friends League in Denver
$50: ASPCA
$500: Ruff Houzen, Ashley Paige's rescue organization.
Ashley emailed me today to thank me for the donation to Ruff Houzen. The money will go directly toward the surgeries of two dogs she rescued that had been hit by cars, and whose veterinary bills topped $6k. Over 500 dogs saved to date, all by one little girl with a very big heart.
