Hold up! Wait a minute! I've known Mel for about ten years, and during that time we have worked together, traveled together—to Thailand and Mexico and Jersey—and partied together at approximately 4,500 bars and festivals in between. So, I've got to do this up right. Sister deserves a proper send-off...
I'll continue.
The event took place at the Lord Thompson Manor in Connecticut. GORGE. There were acres and acres of land to roam...

...exquisite decor...

...and '20s-style hats in every room. It felt very Great Gatsby-esque, with a tinge of Saratoga. Didn't my iPhoto give this hat-on-a-radiator shot a badass Pink Panther vibe? Giddy-up.

What I loved most about this wedding, though, was how very untraditional, relaxed, and warm the weekend was. Melanie even let her wedding party pick whatever dresses we wanted, as long as they were yellow. J'adorable, no? All brides should be so cool.

That's me, second to the right, just behind the beautiful bride!
I know in my heart that Melanie and Jason will grow old together, and that they are each other's perfect match. And for that, I offer a few more gratuitous shots from this most magical weekend. LOVE YOU M+J!

I still can't believe I was uninvited because I wanted to bring my stripper pole! Like it's HER wedding?!! I guess it looked okay? If you like that whole civilized thang. Besides, I got to see the Springer Marathon by being home anyway...so there! :p
Looked loverly and sunshiny delicious! Love the bridesmaids picking their own dresses...no regrets for later. Unless of course I'm one of the bridesmaids! ;)
Thanks momma. Your the best friend a girl and guy could have! The pix are great, can't believe its over. Can't wait to be 75yrs old with you as we watch Jay & Paul play golf while we sip on our martinis and they have to carry us to bed.

love the pink picture of the hat. It looks like such a gorgeous venue.
And yay for non-matchy bridesmaids dresses! love it!
Do I spot your hand at work in this lovely soiree? It looks rather bee-ish in a most delightful way. What a truly gorgeous wedding! I am really in love with the picture above the pink panther one.
Gorgeous! So hopeful. So Gatsby, in a non-cad sort of way.
Lots of time to catch up on my reading since focusing on the debates and listening to McCain insert "my friend" into every other sentence is making me loathe the phrase.
I love the you-pick yellow bridal party, after having to buy 2 dresses I will never wear again last summer, this sounds like an ideal wedding to be a part of.
Love your blog!
That's where I got married!!!!!!
