Good afternoon and welcome to the Bee!
Last week we talked about the downfall of yet another magazine. We paid our respects, offered a giant "F youuuu!" to the collective ignoramuses who got us into this mess, and came up with a plan to kick this recession in the ass. It's a little something we like to call Bee's Stimulus Package. And whether you're out of work or gainfully employed, this one's got your name written all over it. Here's how it works...

1. If you were recently laid off and are looking for your next gig, pull up a chair. Or a laptop. You've just landed yourself a guest blogging spot here at the Bee. As you can see by the mixed bag that is this blog, your guest post can be about pretty much anything—an homage to your favorite city, a shiny new this-or-that, perhaps your newly minted guide on how to turn 50 cents into a mil (or die tryin'). Trust me, there really are no rules.
In return for your guest post, you'll receive a special gift, courtesy of some very talented readers. Which brings me to the next category...

2. Looking to do something good this holiday season? Think it's time to pay it forward? Why not offer up a gift to one of our talented guest bloggers? Maybe you have an item from your etsy shop you'd like to give away? Or you spotted a cute something-or-other at a flea market but just don't have the right spot for it in your home? Raise your hand! You can make someone very happy. And maybe just a little bit hopeful for the future.

SO. If you fall into either category and would like to participate, leave me a comment or shoot me an email. A few of you have already expressed interest in guest blogging, and some of you have offered up some VERY fabulous prizes. Keep 'em comin', kids! This gaping hole known as the economy is vast and abysmal. Let's fill it with some laughs and a smidgen of cheer.

Peace.

Okay, this ranks right up there with the Franklin's Economic plan :) How spectacular!
You are a genius! Why Obama chose Hillary for Secretary of State and not The Lil Bee I will just never understand.
I apologize for being MIA lately re: comments. I blame it on Google Reader. And not me being lazy. No, not that, never that.
So sign me up. I will guest post! Especially if there is the possible chance of a free gift with purchase! Even if said free gift is just the warm glow of Bee Readers.
:)
Happy Monday.
Hilare! Susannah, you are in, sista!
I would like to offer up a prize. Something from my little gift shop.
The store is tanking, so let's give it away!
I will find something fabulous.
XO~Z
You already know I'm in....whatever you want, whatever you need....let's do it. I really love this idea!
i'd be happy to guest post.

Zakary, Jae, love it!
Hi Bee- I'd be happy to donate something if you get any Canadian guest bloggers - that way we can avoid the hassle of customs and extra shipping and all that jazz...keep me posted!
you're pretty wonderful.
plus, wonderfully pretty.
xoxo.
I would love to !
oh oh oh pick me pick me lol
yep, genius indeed!! i would love to donate a prize to a guest blogger. perhaps an 'i've never met you' zine, since i don't know your guest bloggers...? what do you say? i can't wait to see what happens with this fantastic stimulus plan of yours!
hooray lil bee! what a fun idea. as i am currently job hunting and already spend much of my days with my face glued to my laptop screen writing on my blog, reading others blogs, and searching for new blogs to become addicted to, i would be more than happy to ramble away on any topic you choose!
Hey Lil Bee,
What a fabolous opportunity! If my ideas seem worth it I would absolutely be honored to be a guest blogger!
This is a fantastic idea. Sign me up. I need something to fill my days of unemployment.
loves it! And, hmmm...if you want a photography post, I'd love to do it here as a guest. Let me know!
I actually find out on Wednesday if I will be laid off! Ugh! If I am no longer gainfully employed by the end of the week, I'm in if you'll have me!
Hi there! Just wandered over here from Ciao Chessa and I am loving this idea! I'm kind of at a loss as to what I could guest-post about (a little writers' block these days), but I'm happy to participate in the fun by sending something to one of your guest bloggers.
I am so in for donating a prize. I can't wait for all of that great reading by your guests!
You guys rock! So many guest bloggers and gifts. This is awesome. I will email you all with the details soon. Love it!
Lemme see what I can come up with as a gift.
ohhhhh this is the best idea ever!! i dont have any prizes to give, but i'd write a guest post if i can have jess' zine! ;)
Wow, what an awesome idea! I'll definitely be checking back when (not if, when) I am laid off, since our company is rapidly shrinking to nothing, although the outsourcing company we are part of is growing. Hmm, funny how that happens.
Love this! I'll be reading it all. Thanks for doing this, bee.
Yes we can, do this, donate a prize, er uh whatever. I am still hyped up from the election. So your stimulus plan sounds great.
excuse me, but you are seriously the greatest. What a fabulous idea. I'm over in little old Australia, but if there is anything I can do let me know! - not sure i have anything cool to give away, I could give away some of our australian dollars, pity one of them is only worth 50 US cents. You rock x
Love this idea! Let me think about a prize for the guest bloggers.
I will offer something from my Etsy handmade shop. I am thinking a pair of fingerless mittens made from recycled sweaters. Always love your creative ideas!
I'd love to guest post AND give a gift! Blogging + presents = best idea ever!
What a cute idea! I'm sure it will cheer up a ton of ppl who aren't in the best place right now :)
Ooo, I'd be happy to donate a prize. This sounds awesome.
I love this. I want to help. But how can I? CDs? Vinyl? Books published by St. Martins Press? Passes to a show?
...look at me, offering up all my peeps for holiday cheer. Is that what you meant by pay it forward?
Lemme know Bee, and I'll help gather.
Bee: This is the cutest idea EVER! I love it and you rock for coming up with this genius plan. If you need more gifters, holla!
hey i love this. first off i was laid off 4 days after i got back from my honeymoon and so i'm definately in that catagory... BUT... I'm not bitter..so I definately would also love to give something that i've created so that someone else thats down in the dumps can enjoy it. :o) so i'd like to have best of both worlds. haha
What a clever idea and I am all over it! I'll donate a little something. Everyone loves pretty paper!
you are awesome! count me in...
excellent project lil bee!
pretty awesome lady...it's a regular W.B.A project! I"m not out of work but business is pretty slow. so i can do either--donate to a guest blogger or be a guest blogger. relax you two it's both...
yeehaw!
This is a genius plan. I would offer a gift, but sadly, I have nothing to offer. Unfortunately, I am not the most artistically excellent person ever.
And I am not out of work, either.
But I love the idea, and would love to guest blog, though I don't think that I should do well, or know exactly what to write.
My blog is at http://orange-rain.blogspot.com
Thanks so much and keep inspiring us!
You are amazing and your blog is fantastic, thanks so much for having it and being so amazing.

[ oh, and i do not mean for this little post to sound so dramatic and low-self-esteemy. im sorry. ]
Ditto what Petunia Face said...I'm sooooo beehind on my bee reading. Have not been able to travel the blogosphere much lately. Brilliant idea my friend. You're amazing. I've missed you and promise to stop by much more often. :) xo ~Suzanne
Aww yeah, I'd love to do this. I lost one of my two clients on Friday, which perhaps is a blessing in disguise. I'd love to be in if you'd have me.
