Our living room is in major need of some love. I've posted about this before...you may remember...but with a wee bee on the way and one seriously questionable economy, things like decorating have been put on hold.*
...and, a green, nature-inspired pattern, which I normally wouldn't look twice at, but which could tie in the sage green of our sofa.
Fast forward to Urban's free shipping deal, and said living room project is back on the front burner. Now I just need to decide which chairs to get. That's where you come in.
To refresh your memories, below is my inspiration board. In true Domino The Book of Decorating fashion, I've sourced furniture, pulled swatches, and carved out a meager budget ($700-800 for two chairs). Mira:
Now for the chairs. I've narrowed down my options to these three:
There's the original ikat pattern I've been coveting...
...a neutral, vintage-y pattern that could play off the taupe in our newly painted den (photos to come) and the gray in our nearby family room...

So, lamb chops, what do you think? Which of these three chairs would best work with our living room layout and my Neutral-Bohemian-with-a- touch-of-Glam style? Weigh in, please, and thank you for your help!

The third chair jumped out at me first, but that's mostly because I like that kind of print.
so Target has a few slipper chairs with similar patterns as the ones above. They have free shipping and 15% off right now. Just thinking it could stretch your dollars a bit further...

I love your mood board! I am having a similar dilemma with an antique sofa (See my posts: http://charlotteannette.blogspot.com/2009/07/13-reasons-why-i-love-patterned-sofas.html and http://charlotteannette.blogspot.com/2009/06/camelback-sofa-redux-part-i.html) I think you should go with the navy ikat since it was your gut, but then again, is the ikat going to be "SO 2009" in a couple of years? I LOVE LOVE LOVE that mod UO chair, and the neutral one would, obviously, be the most versatile. Let me know what you decide because it might help me out with my couch dilemma!

First of all, it has the nicest pattern. (I don't really care for the last one at all).
Second of all, you love it and have been coveting it.
Third of all, it's a nice compliment to the sage green couch! Blue and green work well together all the time.
So, that's my vote. #1 Blue Ikat chair. (yay!)

Charlotte: I promise to post the winner when I make the final decision. Decorating is so fun but so hard...I agree! I will be over in a minute to check out your sofas.
TBF: Funny you should mention a pop of orange. In the adjacent room, the den, which I've yet to post photos of, we used a neutral beige on the walls and a burnt orange Ikea sofabed!! I had originally toyed with bright walls and a neutral sofa, but Paul loved the orange and I thought it would be a much better flow to have consistent, neutral walls (beiges, browns, and grays), with pops of color in the furniture. That's my decorating two cents for you!! xx
I like #3, but maybe the Ikat would be a better contrast to the couch, while #3 would blend. If you wouldn't normally give it a 2nd look, you might end up hating it.
Definitely check out Target! I purchased one of their chairs (that has the same lines as chairs #1 and #2), paid a little over $100, and had free shipping! It is in my little man's nursery and is super comfortable - and great for feedings :)

#1 without a doubt. Love the navy so much.
I do like the third one, but I think I'd get tired of it fairly quickly (especially if you're not head over heels for it at the beginning). So, my vote goes to the first one. I'm a sucker for navy. It'll also work really well with other patterns or colors.
deer head = phenomenal.
I have a friend who just got 2 of the Navy Ikat...they're fantastic IRL...

my fave is the middle one but I adore the original ikat pattern too...if you get that deer head (which I love so much I can't stand it) then the blue might work better...but the grey might be a great counter point. either way, I'm a fan of those two...the last one is cute and whimsical but I don't love it as much...maybe you can get that one of the wee one's room since you said you were going to do that in yellow?

I like 1 and 2. I'm very intrigued with 2 because it pulls in the other room and isn't such a close match to the deer. But 1 is pretty snazzy.

Did you say you have a sofa? If not I say put a red sofa with the #2 chair. Paint a very deep putty color that would blend with the grey chair. The fireplace will pop if you paint it white like the pic (you may have already done that). I love the style of this chair. I'm actually putting some like this in a client's vacation home in Watercolor!
