Baby love.

Oh, good morning! I apologize for the radio silence. Allow me to explain...

Sunday morning I awoke to discover that my email had been hacked and that some heinous individual with poor grammar was trying to sell everyone in my address book computer electronics. I have over 450 contacts in my book, many of whom are current and former clients. Mortifying.

As I sat at my desk trying to decipher just how serious the situation was, I started to wonder if I was in the Twilight Zone. Not so much because my computer had been hacked, but because Paul had now entered the living room and was spewing off random bits of information in what can only be described as a disturbed Dr. Seuss-like pattern:

"Matt LAUER signed a new contract today."
"Is it me or does this coffee taste SOUR?"
"Hon, I know someone broke into your email, but you can't COWER."
"What are you doing up at the eight o'clock HOUR?"
"If I were to bake some oatmeal cookies, would I need any FLOUR?"

After about ten minutes of this, I finally whipped around and asked him WHY he was being so m.f. annoying when clearly there was a crisis at hand. He grinned. "I was trying to drop hints. You need to get off the computer now and shower. Because today is your baby shower. Surprise!"

Needless to say, I was 100% shocked. And I learned a valuable lesson: when something seemingly catastrophic slams you in the face, the best remedy is to walk away and spend time with your favorite people. A onesie decorating station, delicious brunch, and tons of beautiful presents help, too. Take a peek:
The cupcake bar. I scarfed down two and took home another dozen.

One of two customized diaper cakes, this one from my friend Elle.*

A daddy tool kit, tricked out with gas mask, rubber gloves, and a poem called Real Men Change Diapers.

I took the rest of the day and yesterday to spend time with my friends and family, including my dear friend Jess who flew in from Texas for the occasion. It's overwhelming to think of how much everyone did, and I don't quite know how to explain what it means to me. Every child should come into this world so fortunate.

To my mom, Adriane, Lisa, and Melanie: thank you for the most beautiful shower I could've imagined. And to Wee Bee, your room is now filled to the brim with crocheted blankets, soft stuffed animals, something called a Boppy, and two pimped out car seats to ensure you're looking fly when we roll out of the driveway. Come soon, OK? We love you already.

*PS: If you find yourself in need of your very own diaper cake, call Jessica @ 732.614.2915. She promises to use squeaky clean diaps and your favorite color combos. Thanks, Jessica!

I'm sorry to hear about your e-mail being hacked. On the bright side, the cupcake bar is, quite possibly, the most clever idea I have ever heard of. I truly need to try this out someday. Glad you had a lovely baby shower - you deserve it, darling! :)

Anything cupcake is awesome! Sorry about your email, how awful. Boppys are the best! So many ways to use them even after baby outgrows them!

maybe your email should be hacked into more often if it guarantees a cupcake bar and presents :) it looks like you had a beautiful shower!

What a wonderful surprise!! Unfortunately my husband doesn't only ask questions like those when he's trying to drop hints haha!!

Very sorry about your e-mail getting hacked... that's possibly one of the most worrisome things!

I am so excited for you and the baby shower! That is amazing!

My e-mail was hacked on Saturday morning. They tried to Google Chat with people telling them I was dying and all sorts of craziness. Hope everything was taken care of.

omg that is SOOOO funny. my husband often tries to do clever funny word plays and I too find it so absolutely annoying. I've kicked him more than once.

Happy baby shower! It looks lovely.

Hope you're ready for little baby Bee.
