Oh, breakfast.

How I've missed you.
My abandonment has not been intentional. No, no... Rather, it is the directive of one small, pint-sized girl with a very feisty temperament. Mornings are her fussy time and, well, mom's breakfasts do not fit into that schedule.

So, until further notice, I'll just admire you from afar. Yummy jellied toasts and hard boiled eggs and creamy coffee goodness... these things shall be admired from afar.

Sincerely,
Bee

Simply Breakfast... two words with such significance to the mother with a newborn.

you poor thing...i don't think i've missed breakast, well...ever! and how great is that rustic table with that homemade looking mug? as for my nail polish, i use opi's "you don't know jacques" and add a layer of essie's "matte about you" for a shine free finish.

I didn't have breakfast today, and now you've made me crave it. Feel free to eat vicariously through me - at least until you have the pleasure of, once more, sitting down to a proper breakfast! :)

Mmm. That was me this morning. Two toasts, two dippy duck eggs. AND many many many butters.

I hate when I miss breakfast. It throws me off all day and I tend to be cranky! The toast looks way too good!

Just wait until you're finishing her lunch! Eating becomes so secondary. Ah ha.

I remember eating at the strangest times when the Monster was brand new. I even had to take him in the shower with me and wash myself with one hand while I held him in the other arm. Tricky. Eventually he allowed me to carry him in a sling while I prepared meals and washed dishes and he started to like his baby swing. Maybe give those things a try if you haven't already?

Oh it's all coming back to me Bee! I remember these moments. I also vividly remember falling asleep and then looking at the clock on waking and being over the moon that I had gotten 3 hours sleep. The 3 hour mark was so important to me.... if I had had 3 hours, I could function. Treasure. Every. Minute..... because you DONT remember the little minutes. I sat the other day trying to remember what it was like to change my 12 year olds nappy when he was a baby! I tried to remember the little day to day things I did with him. I just couldn't. Cherish every minute with little D. How lovely you can record it all on your bloggy blog. A-M xx

I swear ... I love these posts. I agree with A-M... and I'm so happy for you AND your little one -- that you will have this wonderful "log" of memories from living in the moment. Good for you!!

These breakfasts look marvelous. :) On a side note - make sure you are getting *something* in the mornings though... a wee bit of protein & some "good" carbs. (There are some pretty good breakfast drinks out there - not quite the same as warm toast, but better than nothing.)

All the best to you and your lovely family.

Breffy for me, has turned into a cup of instant (gah!) coffee with rice milk & a kashi cookie. It's so glam being a mom.

Well, if you ask me, breakfast is best at all times of day {and night!}. Just make sure to eat something!

Cheers.

Marjorie: I just started using the Ergo and we are BIG FANS of that! Devon loves it and I have my hands free.

AM: So funny you say that...three hours is the norm around here and anything else feels like heaven!

I love breakfast as well-- even if it's just coffee, some muesli and fresh seasonal fruit, there is something so satisfying about it. With that said, I can never get mine to look so rustic and artisinal as they do over at Simply Breakfast...

Anyway, hope you have a grand return to the most important meal of the day soon! -X
