John Lennon

My mom just reminded me that 29 years ago today John Lennon was murdered. Sometimes I think that there are some people in life who are so visionary, the world just isn't ready for them—John Lennon, Bob Marley, Biggie Smalls, the list goes on. In honor of John, let's hope his message of peace rings true someday soon.

this gave me goosebumps. during my first trip to nyc a few years back, i trekked three hours just to see strawberry fields and the dakota. a lot of people questioned my strange take on being a tourist in ny, but it was so worth it.

We should never forget the greatness he achieved in his life time.
When IMAGINE was in Montreal at the Fine Arts Gallery I got to sit and play John Lennon's white grand piano. Just touching the same thing he created music on gave me butterflies!
It's nice to see that his son is carrying on the message through music as well :)

Amen to that!

I was very young but I remember showing up for the school bus and my little seat mate Milena was crying her eyes out. "John Lennon's dead!" She couldn't stop saying it. And it was before the interwebs so the first I heard was from little Milena...and I will never forget that day when a little slice of peace was taken away from us.

I agree with Emily...I used to live on the Upper West Side and found myself wandering around those same parts one summer, repeatedly. So many tourists come there because it's so beautiful. I was just about to be born when he was killed...I can't even imagine the state of the world after that happened...

IMAGINE. <3
Especially in this season, his message of love and peace is so important. I hope you and yours experience it this Christmas.

I'm imagining. The good thing is just by posting this message, you are changing the world. Thanks for doing your part :)

my roommate took a study of the person course this past term, and the first five weeks were devoted to john lennon. i dont think she hated anyone more by the time midterms rolled around ... but even she couldnt deny he was a visionary!

I couldn't agree with you more. These people were all visionaries who didn't get enough credit during their living years! ox
