I realize that a) you don't care, and b) statements like this hold about as much credibility as the number of girls in the Niagara Falls area that Brian has bedded.

However, seeing as I have the first of two weddings next month, and keeping in mind that I'm not used to having to look cute at my inflated size (40 down, 20 to go), I'm going to need your help in selecting a flattering dress. I've narrowed down my options to the following:
Please weigh in.*

#2!!!! Oh my goodness, #2. Please buy this so I can live vicariously through you. Thanks.
I like the first dress and the last one. And be easy on yourself-losing weight is difficult and the fact you have lost 40 lbs is freaking awesome!!!!
I LOVE the gray anthropologie dress!
#2- It's gorgeous and I have found that ruffles hide a LOT, are quite flattering and very forgiving.
ok you officially kill me with your sign off. i think numbers 1 and 3 are the best bets since the v-neck and flutter sleeves are always your friend. i think 2 is gorg, but i'd have to spend a week attached to the floor doing push-ups in order to pull it off.
I love love love the Rising Vapor Dress! A pashmina can hide away any arm insecurities. Sigh, it's so beautiful, I would wear it no matter what size you are!
I say the second dress...the Rising Vapors Anthro dress. It is so pretty and I think ruffles are forgiving. Second choice would be the 1st Anthro dress.
I'm sure you'll look fab!

yeah, #2 is fantastic! whatever you wear, I'm sure you'll rock it...
First of all, you are not fat and you've lost 40 pounds in three months - you rock!
I choose the first dress, from Tibi. Having been through this (several time!) before, here's why.
Black and white is always a good bet no matter what your size. Classic, lovely.
The all-over pattern is a nice scale and will help to hide any bulges you may or may not have.
The V neck is lovely and a little plungey, very hot and fun. You are still YOU after all!
It is fitted at your smallest part and then floats away beautifully. Very flattering.
I know the gray ruffle dress is beautiful, I love it! But those ruffles could go either way depending on how the dress hangs on you. It may be perfect, it may not work. You would definitely have to try it on to know for sure.
love the second one from anthropologie! its adorable!
I think that pinkish salmon colored dress would look gorgeous on you. It's figure-skimming but hugs in the right places. Love the subtle sash as well.
Dear Frank the Tank,
I would definitely select dress #2, as ruffles are wonderful at concealing excess baggage (including those of the saddle variety). Also, thanks much for the BC reference. It made my day.
Sincerely,
Baby Beluga
Loving the black Anthro. You could wear a cardi over it, too, if you wanted.
number 1! it's totally adorable and definitely flattering. number 2 is gorgeous but maybe harder to pull off since it's sleeveless.
ooh - totally feel you on this! still working off twenty of my own - and p is 5 months!!!
i'd go with the red Tibi one it it was me. all are cute, but that one looks the most forgiving while still being adorable.
The chocolate ruffle one!
i think it most definitely depends on where you're holding extra weight. i hold mine all in the middle. like an apple. so i look at those dresses and think "eek. i need a shift dress."
but i'm assuming you're looking at your body type here and not mine. :-)
that being said, i vote for dress 2.
because it's AMAZING.
I like the one on the left... show off that post baby cleavage girl! The only thing that makes the extra pounds worth it! :)
I guess I've already been outvoted here but I say No.4 - it's gorgeous (and on sale!!)
They are all adorable but the gray Anthro number is really speaking to me.
ALSO - please shut up.
if you're anything like me, I show my weight gain a lot in my arms, so I would say that first dress is perfect! accentuates the waist, hides the arms...
... But really, I'm sure you're not FAT. Don't be so hard on yourself! At least you have an amazing reason to be a little over your desired weight, you just had a cute little baby!!
I heart the 2nd dress! I love the texture and tiers but love that it draws it in at the waist. Totally flattering and then you can pair it with some fabulous bright shoes! Keep up the good work!!
I think #1 or #3 would be fabulous....:) Love #2 also!
I love all of these choices. And I guess it depends on what you feel like you need to cover? I've always hated my arms so I would stay away from #2 which stinks because it's an amazing dress - but if you're ok with your arms and not the other parts it hides I SAY #2! The red one is so pretty as well!
My top fave though is #4 - it's so edgy! :)
#2 will give you a waist. Rock it.
I think #2 is perfect and it will be totally flattering <3
You see, I think #4 would be most flattering! AND it's very versatile... I know that you, being a new mommy, can appreciate that. AND you can go nuts with accessorizing with this one. I'm pretty positive you'd look fab either way, Frank the Tank. Xx
If it were me, my first instinct would be to go for the black and white from Tibi. But, that's because I would want to distract from the areas where I know I gain weight - waist and arms. But, if you're not worried about your arms the ruffled Anthropologie dress is beautiful!
It's all about what you feel comfortable in.
I love number one, will highlight your best assets up top while narrowing the larger "assets" on the bottom ;) similar thoughts for number three. Number two is risky unless you have a nice shrug to hide the arms (i personally hate myself in tanks) and number four is nice but too casual, no?
Good luck - remember you are beautiful and you made something miraculous, so the extra curves are no big deal!
Okay, as everyone realizes, #2 is an AMAZING dress...but the thing is, I feel like it's a dress that, I personally anyway, could only pull off when feeling "skinny." Extra fabric when I'm feeling extra heavy just seems like it would make me self-conscious about looking extra bulky. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe if I could try it on, it would fit like a dream, but I'm thinking that for my personal post-baby figure number 1 would be the way to go.
I vote for number 1! The cut looks elegant yet comfy and the print will be forgiving. Let us know what you choose!
Definitely gray with ruffles!
Loving the red one. So cute and bright!
I'm gonna go with the last. Accentuate the waist, cover the rest in black ;) Throw in a chunky necklace to distract from said "rest of" that cannot be hidden. be sure to add jazzy shoes and black on bottom. jazzy shoes and a bold necklace save me everytime!
I think the ruffles on the second will not do you well I'm gonna go on a limb and say please don't, unless you started at a size zero and then... well you'll look just fine!
I'm torn between 3 and 4. I also feel that you can't go wrong with the waist clencher of the belt. Something about that red is speaking to me. Make sure you post pics once you've decided.
agree with most, i like the ruffle dress, but the only dress seems as it may HIDE stomach area is the tibi dress, and you can add any color shoes bag necklace....also the deep V is a perfect distraction for ANY area you are wanting to conceal.
my 2 cents...would love to see a pic of the one you choose
I would stay away from #2 - I think it will make you feel bulky. Go with 1 or 3, cute patterns, waist cinching and you'll feel fabulous. Make sure you get a cute pair of shoes!
I think the first one is probably the most figure friendly and I think most bodies could pull it off perfectly, but I also like the second Anthro look.

haha your post is hilarious. 40 lbs loss is amazing! Good for you! I love 1 or 4. Both very cute and flattering. All excellent choices though. Have fun at the wedding I hope the wee lil bee is going too! :)
I think number one is the best, but #3 is pretty darn cute!
One or three, for sure.
You'll look wonderful. ;)
love the first 2!
Go for #3!
I like 1 and 3! I wore a similar cut to a bridal shower and it gave me a great waist line!
Numero UNO~!
I like 1 or 3...both would be super flattering! this post is too funny!
i pick #2!
OH sweetie take it easy on yourself. You just produced life, so pat yourself on the back and go spoil yourself by purchasing a DVF wrap dress. They are always stylish and forgiving. I have two boys and of course two post-baby DVF dresses and I still wear them. Love your blog!
The third (red) has my vote! Have fun!!
The second dress is definitely my fave.
Three is my vote...such a vixen dress...you can totally rock it...the cut is gorgeous and shit, I just adore it!
I love #2, but I think #3 would flatter almost anyone. I love dresses with ruching. Plus the color just POPS and you'll totally stand out, in a good way.
xo
I quite like the Paul & Joe Sister myself; and I imagine it would look amazing on you. The fluttery/kimono sleeves are stunning!! :)
definitely not Sister (people might think you're still preggers). while i'm usually all about gray, the cut on #3 will probably be the most flattering to your shape right now (like i really know what that is?)...can you get #3 in a solid?
My favorite is the second dress, so pretty and the ruffles could have a nice concealing factor! I'm sure you'll look beautiful though :)
AND the picture below of Devon is beeeyootiful, ps.
I say:
1) Dress #2
2) Be gentle to yourself, you are an amazing, lovely mama
3) Add http://www.aintnomomjeans.com/ to your reader. These girls are awesome - they started the most wonderful moms group here in Denver and their blog is perfect for cool moms!
That red one is SO much fun!
Number 2!! Amazing dress.
I really love #2 the most, but once it's on the body it might have a reverse-flattery effect due to the ruffles. So my second choice is #4 (though I seem to be alone in the choice).
dear fabulous frank,
my faves are #1 and #3!
love you!!!
these dresses are beautiful! I would wear something black bc let's face it, it's slimming and it looks fabulous on everyone!
Sadly, I would opt for anything with lycra in it, knowing A) that the wedding would likely have good food, and B) I would rather feel comfy if I'm 20 lbs overweight. This, and other reasons contribute to why it took me FIVE YEARS to lose those 20 lbs. :-)
ps--I think it's amazing that you lost 20 pounds in 3 months!!! :) mazel tov to you, lady!
My vote goes to #3--the low cut neckline will showcase your post-partum decollatage, and the bold colors are gorgeous!
Good luck--40 down is amazing!
Love Love Loving Number 3!
i'm sure you'd look great in anything!
prints do tend to distract the eye, though, from curves and whatnot (did i just use the word "whatnot"? yes. yes, i did.)
have fun at the wedding!
:)
#1 & #4.
I say the first one. It was the first to catch my eye. Also - not only will it hide that extra weight, it will display what I expect will be impressive post pregnancy cleavage. It's all about diverting focus...
i have to say #1, definitely. the pattern, the cinched waste, the sleeves, and the length are all super flattering. you can show of your postpartum cleavage, and the one part that always stays skinny - your beautiful collar bone. you are amazing for losing 40 lbs! just remember, you're not supposed to be skinny, you just had a baby!
#1...and ps i'm currently approaching week 3 of a genius contest called the biggest loser. the idea of a cash reward is literally the only motivating factor, because damnit living your life like you're barefoot contessa is so delicious!
I think # 1, 2 and 4 are great but the reviews on the Anthropologie website for #2 (yes, I looked as I was thinking of committing a possible robbery* on that dress) and they are not good. I think #1 is great for spring and has an amazing cut. Good luck and let us know what you choose...
*I know you secretly know what the robbery reference I am talking about means...=-)
Columbidae Dress for sure! I love it.
I think dress 3 would be perfect! The cut if terribly flattering & the fabric is snug just enough to show off your curves (you should celebrate that 40lb weight loss!). I also love the fact that it is in a bright red print that would certainly make you stand out amidst the sea of black dresses.
