On my mind this Monday morning...

studiotoogoodsetdesign3

  • 6 Foot 7 Foot
  • Really, who listens to this music at 12:17 on a Sunday evening?
  • Technically, it's Monday.
  • And technically I'm listening to Lil Wayne while rocking a maternity henley and sweats.
  • Doesn't get more bad-ass than that.
  • I do have a fresh blowout, however.
  • My bookcases look awesome.
  • My best design yet.
  • When you have no money, you take infinite pleasure in rearranging and color-coordinating your books. Apparently.
  • I'm craving Skittles and Bit-o-Honeys right now in the worst way.
  • It's funny how downtime evolves as you get older and circumstances change.
  • I've always been a night owl, but now I look forward to late nights because I can catch up on my DVR'd shows, drink a peppermint tea, and plan my next day.
  • Nothing satisfies me more than a completed plan.
  • I wonder if Devon will be like that, or if she'll be more of a fly-by-the-seat-of-her-pants girl.
  • I wonder what Puffy thinks of Kyle's White Party on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
  • How is it that I'm still watching this show on mute? And after seeing this particular episode three times already?
  • I remember when I was pregnant with Devon, I couldn't wait to have a house full of kids, all of us dancing in our living room and laughing.
  • She's still working on her balance, but D-Dubs does a mean crunk.
  • Why am I still awake? I've got this sneaking, eeking suspicion that this baby is going to be born early.
  • Of course, every pregnant woman thinks that, right?
  • Switching gears.
  • 8:48am and a well rested mom and Devon reporting to duty.
  • Speaking of duties, Devon did a mean one this morning.
  • I have a feeling that my Monday morning posts, now inspired by the surroundings in my living room and the contents of my daughter's diaper, are not quite as interesting as those that were written on an early morning commuter train.
  • I'd like to be the Jerry Seinfeld of this act, not the Brett Favre.
  • So, perhaps it's time to retire these posts. Or at least cut back on their frequency.
  • I'll be seeing you. I hope not sporadically!
  • Nothing but the sound of Devon drinking her "ba" and making contented little noises.
Your turn.

But I love the Monday posts. Keep 'em going for us office schmucks.

Also, I adore that you quoted 'Clueless'. And I don't find discussions on poop as boring as maybe I should.

Mine:
Why did I wait so long to get an iPhone? I think I'm in love.

Is it lunchtime yet? No, I'm serious. I want my leftover risotto n.o.w.

How come people talk about '9 to 5' work and my office requires me to be here from '8 to 5'? I'm calling Dolly Parton, man.

also i LOVE bit o honeys! it's hard to find ones that arent rock hard because they seem to be the red headed step-children of the candy world, but i am glad someone else recognizes how good they are!

Have to jump on this bandwagon, and really, really hope you don't retire the "on my mind" posts. You still have it(and sadly, Brett doesn't!) I promise!

As a former early morning train commuter myself, these are some of my favorite posts of yours. Please do keep them coming, even if you're writing them from home. In fact, I quit my job to travel Italy and am now back in the States still jobless and appreciate all the MORE the random thoughts/musings from home!

Hello,

I just want to say that i always enjoy your posts. I live in London so it's afternoon here by the time i read your morning post and i find myself looking forward to this little routine that I've got into, come around 4pm I get myself a cup of tea or an afternoon snack or something and try to get 5-10 minutes sneaky peak on the internet (sorry boss I need a little tea break) and sometimes i sit there giggling by myself, your writing is really witty and fun and it's almost like having a quick catch up with a friend, ohhh I sound really sad.. well anyway just wanted to say keep up the good work :)

My gosh, you guys, I am completely blushing! And I SWEAR I did NOT suggest stopping the Monday morning posts as a means of fishing for compliments. I am MUCH more direct with that stuff, just ask Paul;)

And so, I promise to keep the Monday posts coming, no matter how disjointed or crazy they may get, for as long as we both can handle 'em. All for you!

I was wondering the SAME THING:

I wonder what Puffy thinks of Kyle's White Party on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

How dare she? Or, damn straight!!!

i pretty much clapped throughout this post, it was so fun(ny). then you tied it all up with that clueless quote, which always kills me. here's what's on my mind!

Please keep Monday posts! I love them, they always remind me of great songs and movies (read: fly by the seat of your pants-Pretty Woman and sporadically-Clueless). These posts help ease into the weekday too. I love lists! Today's list?

-Why did my boyfriend take off an entire's day of work for a dentist appointment?
-Now he's driving me nuts.
-I may be in tomorrow's paper.
-Isn't it funny how deviating from routine can be both fun and irksome?
-Today it's mostly irksome.
-I really love Dunkin's hot chocolate-it's like liquid chocolate marshmallows.
-I miss the contented sounds of the "ba"
-Thankfully, two of my best friends are expecting.
-Two months apart.
-And I'm throwing their baby showers.
-I need a nap just thinking about it.
