Just getting around to checking out your tag. I love checking out these mini bios. I see that you have probably always been passionate about animals, hence your pre-vet major. We just rescued a stray cat and have found that it is pregnant. Any pointers?
As for the color/number thing, it's totally new to me. Sounds fascinating. I'll have to read up on it. Unfortunately I don't think I have an interesting flag to wave!

first of all: FASCINATING! Never heard of such a thing. But I think scents have colors. When I smell something (a perfume, puppy's breath) I associate specific colors with that scent. Waving my flag, baby!

I totally hear you on the synesthesia thing -- I have "spatial" synesthesia, where all of the days of the week or months or years are 3d images in my head. Same for numbers. October is down and to my right and kind of blurry. They don't have colors in my head, but shades and intensities -- though, some of the days of the week have colors. Thursday is green! :)

I don't usually love memes - but this one was a great read. I've never heard of synethesia. But really, if you are going to have a quirky brain - that's the way to do it. I kind of wish mine worked that way...

I also know what you mean about being surprised the other people don't have something that you take for granted. From the time I was little until sometime in my teens I would hear voices as I fell asleep at night. I know - sounds a little schizophrenic - but it was just something my brain would do before I fell asleep - like cycling through my day. I only realized that it wasn't something everyone experienced when I was talking to my therapist about it (I know - even worse - but my family was always very pro therapy, so it wasn't therapy for anything more than teenage angst).

Now I'm feeling very creepy and exposed. I'm actually a lovely (and very normal) person. And if I hadn't already had a few glasses of wine I would have deleted this by now... Ah well - what the hell.

I love the way you put that. "You've got a freak flag. You've just gotta wave it." Love that. I think synesthesia sounds pretty interesting. What color is the letter S? That's my favorite letter.

Something freak flaggish about me? Well, I don't think it's odd, but apparently other people do. I am massively organized and I alphabetize most everything. Even my spice rack. Not, however, my clothing. I may be odd, but I'm not that odd.

Didn't you love Sesame Street? I always loved the scenes with Bert and Ernie because they had an apartment. But I badly wanted to paint the walls and hang better window treatments.

I must have gotten a fraction of the synesthesia gene, because I only see my name in green. Have had that image since PreK 4 when I did an art project with my name and used kelly green to outline my name in cursive.
